Okung out with high ankle sprain

Football Betting Lines

08/24/2010 - Renton, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Russell Okung, the sixth overall pick in this year's draft, has a high sprain in his right ankle.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll called the sprain "moderate" and said that the starting left tackle will be sidelined indefinitely. Carroll did not say whether Okung will be ready for the season opener against San Francisco on September 12.

"It's day to day, I hate to even think week to week," Carroll said after practice. It is a high ankle sprain, so we'll see how that works out. It's not the worst one we've ever seen."

Okung was injured during Seattle's first series against Tennessee in preseason action on Saturday.

With several other linemen recuperating from injuries, Mansfield Wrotto will start at left tackle in Saturday's preseason game against Minnesota.
